Proper Hot Chocolate Recipe
Each year in the lead up to Christmas, I indulge my sweet tooth and try out every seasonal hot chocolate I can find. I love cosy-ing up in cafes big and small, trying out different hot chocolates with different toppings. However, this year that’s not been an option so instead I’ve been making my proper hot chocolate. Think dark chocolate melted through cream and milk, with a hint of toffee syrup, and covered with plenty of whipped cream.
Christmas has been so strange this year without our usual parties, and catch ups with friends. Each year, we typically visit Christmas markets across the Central Belt, or travel overseas for more festive fun. We have a lot of friends who visit Scotland from abroad, and we adore spending time with them during Christmas. This year though none of that is able to happen, and many a friend and family are having to stay put. In fact, we may not even be able to see all our family on Christmas day!
However, it’s important we focus on whatever positives we can, even if it is just festive sprinkles on top of whipped cream.
Indulgent hot chocolate aside, I’ve started a new live stream every Saturday night! Every Saturday night I’ll be live on Twitch cooking up a storm, taking questions and talking food in question. Twitch is a fabulous platform that means you can see me make my recipes in real-time – and even cook along if you’re keen!
