Japanese Wafu Salad Dressing

Wafu salad dressing is a popular Japanese condiment used to add flavor and texture to salads. It is a sweet and sour, tangy dressing that is easy to make and adds a delicious flavor to any salad.

The rise in popularity of this traditional Japanese dressing can be attributed to its distinct flavor profile that other dressings can’t match. It has the perfect balance of sweet and sour flavors, making it an ideal accompaniment for any type of salad. Whether you are looking for something light and refreshing or something more robust, this salad dressing will give your dish the perfect finishing touch.

Once Upon a Time…

Yes, another salad recipe! But when it’s this easy and tasty, can you blame me?

Many years ago, before this blog came to life, I had another cooking blog which was mainly for friends and family. It contained over 200 recipes, with terrible photos. When looking for recipe inspiration these days, I still refer back to those old pages. This tangy Japanese Wafu salad dressing recipe is lifted from that old blog.

This flavourful and easy-to-make salad dressing recipe is like a cheat code. You just need to shake it up and you’re good to go! The rich flavours will make you forget how effortless it actually was to make. Although today I served it alongside a green and red salad (it pairs perfectly with Avocado, it’s robust flavours cutting through the rich fattiness of avocado), it also works immensely well with hot smoked salmon.

So how did I first discover this gorgeous Wafu salad dressing? It was as simple as buying a salad from a Japanese takeaway in Brisbane 9 years ago. And it’s been a salad staple ever since!
